Literature for high resolution mass spectrometry

Discussions about GC-MS, LC-MS, LC-FTIR, and other "coupled" analytical techniques.

G'day there,

We have a JEOL AccuTOF high resolution mass spec. It is coupled with an Agilent 7890 GC.

I was wondering if anyone who is familiar with high resolution mass spec and identifying unknown organic compounds could steer me in the direction of some good books or literature with some theory of determining elemental composition and structures of unknowns.

The system is great, can provide high mass accuracy etc and I can get a formula for the unknown compound - my sticking point is where to go from there to determine a possible structure.

Thanks for any help!

little_brad,

You have already done McLafferty? Look at AbeBooks for that author name you will find books on spectral interpretation.

Best regards.
