Has anyone used both continuous dynode and high energy dynode electron multipliers? Do the high energy dynodes really last longer and improve sensitivity?

I believe that a the HED (like the one for Agilent) is a continuous or channel electron multiplier. I think what you want to look into is the difference between the CED and a discrete-dynode multiplier.

Life time of these multipliers high depends on how they are used; mine has been good to me.

Good luck
