Hi,

sometimes I have problems with column bleeding :? . I don't understand why: I couldn't find a leak and there's a carrier gas cleaningcartridge installed, which looks like a new one after 6 month in use.
Any idea?

Thanks,
Beate

Column bleed ? which kind of phase, not all are the same.

components you have injected upon a column may slowly bleed off with later use,

strong bases may react with silicone phases and cause bleed.

oxygen in carrier gas (cleaning cartridge - carbon trap? ) will cause silicone phases to bleed.

exposure to oxygen during storage (not sealing the column ends) will also damage the phase and cause bleeding.

Take care of your columns.
