Dear
Why we are using PDA for analytical development?

choose a better wavelength

well, it's very important for us to decide the determine wavelength.Because by uv we can't see all constituents, such as related substances. By PDA we can choose a better wavelength which can determine all constituents. I think PDA is helpful for you to develope an method.

In addition to what bingyechumen has said, you can also extract spectra from peaks in your chromatogram. Often in method development we will see peaks co-elute, and PDA will help us in "telling" the purity of the peak (given that the spetra for co-eluting analytes are sufficiently different).
