I would be very very grateful if you could help me!!!
I am studying propane ammoxidation ( Propane+O2+NH3+ catalyst = Acrylonitrile + Propylene + Acetonytrile + CO + CO2 + H2O + N2 ). I need my columns to separate propane, O2, acrylonitrile, propylene, acetonitrile, CO, CO2, and N2. Molecular sieve column connected to TCD and Porapak-Q column connected to FID are normally used for that. I have a Carboxen-1000 column connected to TCD and Plot-Q column connected to FID. Do you think these columns are going to separate my components effectively as well? And also, when I try to inject just acrylonitrile, the peak looks like a big solvent peak! Why?
Thank You
Kind Regards
