RTX-1301 Vinyl Chloride Problem

Hello Folks,

This is my first post, though I read around quite often. I am currently using a 30 m RTX-1301 column from Restek. I have four target chemicals - vinyl chloride, DCE, TCE, and PCE , all in methanol. I am having problems separating the vinyl chloride from the methanol peaks on this column, though the same method worked on the 15m version. My temperature program is set at 35C, increased 5C to 180C final. The carrier gas is Helium at 3 ml/min. I am just looking for some advice as to how to separate these chemicals because it has been difficult to find in the literature. I have struggled with this for quite some time, adjusting the flow rate up to 5 ml/min which just sharpened the peaks, but didn't help the coelution. Thanks for the help.

Slow the carrier flow rate < 2cc/min (0.53mm ID) < 1cc/min (0.32mm ID)

Use a packed column. Very easy separation, several columns possible.

best wishes,
