I have to prove that my BFB tune will pass using the Autofind option. I evaluate BFB that is in my cal std each day. 95 is the base ion in my tune parameters. 95 is also a major ion in TCE. So when I check the tune using autofind, it evaluates the TCE peak and not BFB. Is there a way to fix this in chemstation version G1701BA?

Just use IS/SS mixture only for the BFB.

It has been a long time since I had to do this but when I did the amount of BFB injected to evaluate the tune was much different than the amount loaded as IS/SS. Has this changed in the EPA methods?
Best regards.

You can try setting the base mz to 174 in the edit BFB criteria. It's the second entry from the top.
It's worked for me .

We use a blank run to evaluate our BFB tune files. You do lose a little bit of tune time when you do it that way vs tuning in the calibration verification std, but I think it's a reasonable trade off.
