Naphthalene recoveries at low levels

Hi everybody,
I am currently using a tekmar 3000 connected to a varian GC FID/PID for VPH analysis of MBTEXN compounds. Im having issues with my low level calibration standards in that naphthalene has a lot of varibility. One sample will read nicely and the very next will have no naphthalene recovery what-so-ever. I've tried changing desorb/bake temps, flow rates, and some GC parameters as well. I've also cleaned the PID lamp and replaced the trap. The only compound being affected is naphthalene. All other compounds are reading as they are supposed to. Any advice at this point would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
