At a guess I would say that you could eliminate the water soluble pesticides.

Also, it would be advantageous to know the region the the oil precursor was sourced from in order to determine what pesticides are available for use in the region.

Just because the oils have hydrophobic properties, do not rule out water soluable compunds. THe pesticide only needs to partition into the plant materials - and the oil derived from it. Enough partitioning and you have measurable contamination.

Agree with Don

There are over 800 active pesticide ingredients used worldwide, so your task is not easy at all. I know some companies spent years to get the answers you asked for.

May I ask what company you work for? The first letter is enough.
