Hi there,
Last week (on 23rd June 2010) mfiligenzi posted similar problem like mine but he/she managed to solve by her/himself. In my case I have Agilent HSS G1888, 5975C MSD and 6890N GC configured. Whther I am using the ALS (7683B) at the back injection prot or the HSS at the front I could not edit the sequence. After editing the sequence and clicking OK I get the message 'mstopcmd.dll vial number is out of range'. Consulting Agilent people from different regions they suggested checking the regional and language setting of the PC (which has no problem), installing a patch already delivered with the unit and also available onlne from Agilent, checking the agreement between the selected injector and the method, etc. did not help. Anyone who expereinced the same thing and managed to solve?

thanks

When I upgraded the software on my 6890/5975 system that is configured to run P&T VOAs I ran into that error statement. While the older DA software would let the sequence run with any number for the "vial" when the system doesn't control the autosampler, the new EA software insists on "1" for all vials. Even when it auto-fills other numbers.
I don't know the details of an HSS G1888 but if Chemstation doesn't let you run with real vial #s, will it accept the sequence if all the vials are "1"?
