Aglient LC1100 autosampler arm replacement problem

Hi,

I am trying to replace the gripper arm on the autosampler of the LC1100 (agilent) but am having no luck. The manual says to rotate the arm to the left with a paper clip pushed in the hole. But this doesn't seem to work. Has anybody had this problem before? If so what did you do to solve the problem?
It seems like such a trivial problem to get an engineer out for.

Thanks Aman

Hallo,

I'm Agilent CE and here is my tip:

Use something else as paper clip, something stronger - like very thiny screw driver !

When you insert it turn the arm until you feel you found the spot where it jumps in the hole.

Than turn the arm from right to left !

Hi,
Thanks for the response. I tried using a screw driver and it stops the rotation of the part which rotates. But the arm itself won't lock on to it.
Not sure of what else to do. Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks Aman

Do not forget to push the marked unlock button (?) on the top of the gripper arm.
Push and turn together. Hold the screwdriver in the spot through! If it turns away not easy to find again!
Hope this helps!
