I am working on a Varian 3000. when I inject a sample I dont get any response the base line is very low( like 2mv) in til two min when it jumps up on 300mv. I am not sure where to go with this problem one thing i would like to do is see if the detector is working at all. Is there anyway besides doing a normal run that i could find out if it is working

FID, TCD, NPD, what kind of detector under what conditions? The more info you provide, the more discussion you will get.
Best regards.
