I've been tasked with setting up an HP 5890 Series II and I'm having trouble getting the autosampler system to work.
There's a G1512A controller connected to a 18593B injector and 18596B/M tray. Apart from the HP-IB cables between GC/PC/controller, there's also an APG remote cable from the controller to the GC.
If I try and do a run, the tray will pick up a sample and place it into the injector turret. The injector goes through it's washing and pumping but after that the needle it just sits there in the sample without drawing it up or injecting it. ChemStation just sits there waiting for an injection.
If I set the switches of the G1512A for standalone mode then I can do an injection with the start button but this isn't ideal for a number of samples.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
