Free Software for overlays or 3D Chromatograms?

Hi,

Since customers have limited chemical knowledge it's very important for them to have nice pictures in reports. In this case I have to compare two chromatograms (GCMS) of alien samples with a standard (known) sample.

Since the possibilities of my old Chemstation (Win NT version, very vintage...) and the newer Shimadzu program are not the best concerning effectful displaying chromatograms, I'm searching for a software (freeware if possible) that can produce "nice" overlays of chromatograms or even 3D.

Does anyone know possibilities? I already googled a lot but there was no program that suited my needs. Another problem might be the data format. My GC saves all in "name.D" directories, but i can export them to AIA and read them with Shimadzus GCMS Solution, which again can save them in the Shimadzu .cdf-format.
Maybe I also would need a converter if there is a software for my problem.

Thanks for any hints,

- Commander Keen

I'm not familiar with it, but have you seen chromulan? It is open source and you may be able to use it for your purposes.

I've written an open source ChemStation alternative called OpenChrom. You may give it a try:

It has also an option to overlay chromatograms, currently only in TIC mode, but the software is modular and extendable.
