Hi All,
hope all is well, and work isn't building up too much! i am a bit stuck and thought id check here see if anybody can be of help or assistance.
i am looking for any information, methods or any kind of literature on essential oils and pesticides, am just trying to find out what are the common types of pesticides found in essential oil, if at all any, in order to develop method using either GC or HPLC.
thanks for taking time to read post and look forward to your responses.

At a guess I would say that you could eliminate the water soluble pesticides.

Also, it would be advantageous to know the region the the oil precursor was sourced from in order to determine what pesticides are available for use in the region.
Good judgment comes from bad experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

......Thanks JGK.

Just because the oils have hydrophobic properties, do not rule out water soluable compunds. THe pesticide only needs to partition into the plant materials - and the oil derived from it. Enough partitioning and you have measurable contamination.

Agree with Don

There are over 800 active pesticide ingredients used worldwide, so your task is not easy at all. I know some companies spent years to get the answers you asked for.

May I ask what company you work for? The first letter is enough.

....Thanks Don, those points have been taken into consideration.

.....Thanks yangz00g, i am self employed based in the UK, this was an enquiry i am followin up for a potential customer!

Thanks again for your response
