When you manually integrate a peak in ChemStation it then shows the area above the peak at 45degrees. With a lot of peaks integrated manually the chromatogram looks very messy. Does anyone know how to delete these annotations?

Use the "Remove Tool" ('X') on the tool bar. It will delete the values. You can also use the annotation tool to write in your own values as well. *This works for the image of the chromatogram in manual mode.

Thanks, HPLCConsult, but that does not work for the annotations that result from manual integration - they are protected in some way.

You might be able to "cheat" at removing the annotations by selecting the "Move Annotation" option under the "Graphics" menu, clicking on the manual integration area text, and then changing the font color to match your background (probably white?). I have rev A.10.02, so I don't know if this will apply to your revision.

Thanks, bisnettrj2, but that doesn't work either. No edit allowed. Yep, I tried everything! My version is the latest B.04.02. Just to reassure you - no cheat intended it is a case of getting a clean example to put in a method write-up. The MM code on the results report shows it's a manual integration.

Josh, I have the answer for you. I was asked the same question in a training course last week and we tested this out there and then on rev B.04.02 LC ChemStation.
Look in the User Contributed Library (UCL) on the ChemStation CD, LC section, macro 9 - instructions are in the readme file. This add-on puts a menu item under Graphics which toggles the annotation on and off. It does not remove it, just makes it invisible.
It only takes a minute to add a macro to the system. We had one glitch and that was we were already running the tools.mac add-on menus and the annotation menu refused to load the new menu item. Removing the tools menu fixed it and it ran without problem. Hope that helps.

Of course the next obvious question is why you have so many manually integrated peaks. This has been discussed often in the LC forum, but the point needs to be made that you should review the capabilities of the integrator and have it do the work for you. In most cases, you should be able to get the software to integrate almost all peaks properly, and leave manual options only for the most intractable problems. The integrator has many powerful features, once you learn how to use them correctly. Don't give up yet.
