I am running into issues on a process GC where we are analyzing for H2S in naphtha. The H2S will not elute at all. We have confirmed the LSIV works, the valves work, and the FPD works. Our injection temp is 145C, 2ul sample, oven temp is 80C, carrier is Argon.
The sample is a naphtha from the oilsands that is very high in aromatics, olefins and cyclic compounds. 60% of the sample boils off between 15 and 177 32% between 177 and 343+. If anyone has any experience on this type of analysis I would be interested in learning about how it worked and if you had any issues or things we should look out for.
