Hello to everybody

I have to do some HPLC work on compounds with retinyl propionate
Do you know any good conditions for it??
Can I use the same conditions as I do for retinol??
Thanks
1 - Yes, people use the same conditions for Retinol and Retinyl propionate analysis by HPLC: the polarities of both are different but the molecules are very similar.

2 - It is complex to suggest one method for you without to know how is your sample (or the matrix) but you can start with C-18 column (RP-HPLC) or Silica colunm (Normal Phase HPLC); 325 nm (the maximun absorption of Retinol); and flow at 0.6 to 1.0 mL/min. Use MeOH:Water (C-18 colunm) or Isopropanol:Heptane (Silica colunm).

Good elutions!!
