Let me begin my saying that I am a newbie to this area. I recently obtained my PhD in chemistry and just started a new industry job in analytical chemistry. I have been tasked with setting up an Alltech ELSD 2000 with an Agilent 1100 that is run with Empower 2. I know the Alltech ELSD 2000 can not be operated with Empower 2, and I already have the A/D converter box I need to hook it up. I was wondering if someone could help me figure out how to actually set up Empower 2 to collect the data from the Alltech ELSD 2000. The only Empower experience I have is setting up runs and processing them. If there is something I could read up on, that would be GREAT.

Also, does anyone happen to know if there are ELSDs out there than can be operated with Empower 2 (besides the obvious Waters system)?

Thank you much! :D

The ELSD signal goes to the Empower PC via the A/D interface Box, However you will need to set up a remote start cable between the HPLC and the Empower PC Which will activate the data acquisition by Empower when the HPLC injects the sample.
Good judgment comes from bad experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.
