Want help~HP 5890 w/ PEAKSIMPLE signal output problem!

Hi, guys:
Right now I have a big trouble in the signal output, Really hope someone can help me figure it out:
We are using HP 5890 II,when the FID is lit, it displayed signal properly on the machine, but on the computer it still remains zero. I tried inject MeOH to the column to see if some improvement, seems doesn't work. I am not able to get a signal from the GC.

First step, check all the connections on the signal cable, make sure that all plugs are correctly aligned.
Second step - make sure that you are monitoring the correct channel in Peak Simple.

Did you check if there is carrier flow passing in your column?

PNLove,
Apply 1.5 volt from AA battery to input leads on the PeakSimple. This will verify operation on the data system side. If that is fine then, like Peter says, make sure your signal cable is correctly installed. That also means that you check the right pins on the cable are going to PeakSimple. Simple way to do this is to measure the voltage at the two output leads from the GC (disconnected from the PeakSimple.) Likewise, check the range setting on the GC to make sure it is not very high which would make the output very small.

Two other things that you can try.
It is a long time since I have used a 5890, but a common problem is that the zero value entered for the signal can be too high. If for example you have a zero value of 50, the signal must go above 50 before you will see anything on your integrator/plotter.
You can also assign a test signal as the output signal from the 5890. This generates 3 peaks, the second peak being 1/10th of the first peak in area and the third 1/100 of the first peak.
