				Dear all,
I wonder if GC/MSTOF can use the same library with GC/MS quadrupole.
Our lab already have a GC/MS 5973 and now plan to buy a GC/MSTOF and not sure if they can share the NIST library.
Thanks for any input.

I use the libraries with a LECO GC TOF and it works well. Note that if you intend to use the copy of the NIST library that you use on another instrument - you may have a format issue. But if you intend to use the library on another computer, you have to purchase another copy to avoid copyright issues anyhow.

Speaking of TOF, I don't know why in TOF the detector is often MCP (microchannel plate) but not EM (electron multiplier) as in quadrupole MS. Anyone could explain that?
Thanks
