When Agilent bought EzChrom, people start telling Chemstation and EzChrom will merge..

Now Agilent is introducing OpenLab CDS: does that it mean it is the end of Chemstation and EzChrom?

The answer is very simple: NO.

Agilent will introduce OpenLAB CDS (code merger of ICM and EZchrom) and support ChemStation within the OpenLAB CDS framework. Both applications are supported form the OpenLAB CDS launchpad!

Agilent recently released a new service pack for B04.02 and the development is ongoing. OpenLAB Shared Services will support the original EZChrom/ICM software and the ChemStation software

With respect to instrument drivers, Agilent develops its .Net drivers to run on all platforms, removing the necessity to develop software specific drivers.

Eventually in the future all platforms will gradually merge to one system, supporting functionalities from both 'older' products, with probably a ChemStation flavour or EZChrom flavour to select at installation.

Note that today I can already completely integrate ChemStation with OpenLAB ECM and store the data in the central ECM repository!
