Headspace oven heats unreasonably slow

Hello,

I have an Agilent G1888A headspace autosampler. It took the oven overnight to heat 8 degrees. Anybody know what could be wrong?

This began the day after Agilent performed performance verification and some other test. Is it possible the guy dropped a screw in an important cog or is it just my unlucky week?

I would just get Agilent back in (at their expense) - if it has only just passed performance verification it should still beunder guarantee.

Hi

Unfamiliar with that problem even though I/we have run 7694/G1888s HS for almost 15 years.

Seems most liekly that the Agilent rep might have done something so as Perter said, get them over there to sort it out.

It turns out that the problem was the voltage. It was set to 230 V but our supply is only 110 V or something like that. I switched it to 115 V and that solved the problem.

The guy who did the service on the instrument must have changed it for some reason.

I am also facing similar kind of issue, after PM the areas droped down to half. I thouhgt after PM the areas should increase. Anybody have an idea why is it like that

Was the sample loop changed, and if so is the new loop the same volume as the old loop? Call the company and get someone in to do the work correctly. Was the person who did the work an employee of the company which manufactures the headspace unit or was it a third party service person? Even if the person came from the manufacturer it may have been a contractor, not a company employee, and the person may not have been well trained on your instrument.

The PM was done to GC only not to HSS. So, the loop was same as before

most likely cause is the split ratio has been changed.

Second most likely is the detector gases have been changed.

Third most likely is the detector range setting has been changed.

Try the first three and see if any fits.
