How to Install ELSD with HP 35900 A/D?

Hi guys,

We just got a Sedex 75 to install onto one of our Agilent 1100's via the 35900 A/D box. I think I've got all the connections right (I followed a guide from S.E.D.E.R.E.) but I don't know how to get Chemstation to recognize the box. Anyone have any experience with such matters?

More information: the communication is GPIB. In Configuration Editor, I am attempting to add the 35900C but I don't know what to enter for a GPIB address...

Go into Configuration Editor, select modular HPLC system (I think you've already done this). Select type of 35900 you have, such as 35900C. These typically have the address code of 13, enter that; click boxes for "A" and for "B", then OK. The listing for the A/D 35900 should now show up in the box, so go to File, Save. Then Print, and exit.

Open the Chemstation. You should see a green "ready" icon labeled ADC either under or over your VWD or other detector icon. You may need a remote cable attached from the 35900 box to the stack.

We run ELSD and conductivity detectors on 1100 systems with external A/D boxes (ours are 35900D) and on 1050 systems with internal 35900 cards.

Does anyone have experience with the HP35900B ?
I'm working with HP35900C connected via GPIB and want to add the HP35900B to the system.
Trying to run the HP35900B standalone, ends up with a loop failure. So i assume the HP35900B must be connected to the HP35900C (which is already working on the GPIB), but i'm not sure.
I can not find any docs on how to connect the HP35900B (does not have any GPIB connector)
