I understand that negative peaks are chromotgrams Voltage values ( Y axis ) are negative and peaking towards a downward direction.

But in apex clarity, negative peak is displayed one who peak direction is towards downwards, but Signal values (Y-axis) values are postive.

Now I am confused.

Now my question, Are both definitions are applicable to negative peaks
or my understanding is correct.

Any time the apex value is more negative than the baseline value the peak is negative, regardless of the y axis value, which depends on how the instrument zero is set. I would say both definitions are a special case of a general rule, so both are correct but not complete.
