determining mass of peptide from ionspray

I am trying to re-discover the "formula" required to determine the mass of a peptide/protein from its multiply charged states in an ionspray/ms scan.
The idea is to take 2 or three peaks, determine the charge on the peaks and from there detrmine the mass of the protein.
I gave tried a google search but have not found what I am looking for yet.
Can anyone guide me to a site that can explain this?
