BPA and DEHP in plastic

I am interested in developing a method for analysis of BPA and DEHP (Bis-ethylhexylphthalate) in plastic consumer products. I already have a GC-MS method for DEHP in soil/water matrices, but coming from an environmental background I'm not too sure about the extraction.

I presume a simple extraction into a polar solvent for DEHP and (maybe an acidified leach for the BPA?) but I would like to get hold of some sort of standardised plastic matrix containing a known amount of DEHP/BPA for a positive control and a DEHP/BPA-free plastic for the blank. Are these sort of materials available?

Thermal desorption is a fairly powerful technique, but from what you had indicated it sounds like what you are setting up is to run the samples for consumer product compliance. If that is the case, and you want to consider an alternative technique you should investigate the regulatory agencies policy regarding method verification, etc. Some agencies are fairly straight-forward, while others have a fairly stringent procedure for alternative analytical techniques.
