Hello all-

Out of curiosity, how much would you (or your company) pay for a used functional HP5890 Series II with dual ECDs?

Just the GC -
No control box
No injector/tray
No computer

I've checked on both ebay and labx, and have seen prices anywhere from $3000 to $8000. (the $3000 one actually had a computer with it).

What do you think?

Thanks,
John

I'd wager that you won't find a better deal than $3K with a 'puter already hooked up--especially if has pre-loaded data acquisition and processing software (e.g., totalchrome or chemstation) and misc parts (e.g. columns, jets, gas tubing).

I stay away from a 5890 series 2 that doesn't have a computer card installed, unless you have one. And I'd get one with autosampler. since a 5890 is likely running on Windows 95, NT4, or Windows 2000, I think computer and chemstation should all be part of such a package.
