Contract Labs That Do SFC and SFC/MS

I was wondering if anyone could recommend any contract labs that do SFC - especially SFC/MS.

We have a difficult application requiring the separation of things like mineral oil, wax, petrolatum, etc. These things - at least certain fractions -are beyond the range of GC.

Hence we are trying to find a contract lab with supercrtiical fluid capabilities. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks in advance

Adam,

I'd suspect that some of the suppliers of SFC units in your area would be able to point you towards institutions that might have purchased such units for contract research. They might even offer a low-cost service of determining whether the separation is feasible.

You may find a University that specializes in SFE/SFC research that also does contract work. I'd also talk to companies that supply the waxes about such work, as there are several global contract labs that service the petroleum industry, such as Intertek Caleb Brett.

It may possible to find a local contract MALDI-MS owner prepared evaluate the problem, as they are popular for analysis many other large molecules.

Contact Dr. Larry Taylor at Virginia Tech. He has been doing SF things for many years, and if he can't do it, may know someone who can.
