LCsolution help needed!

Hi everyone!
Im having a diffucult time finding out how to do a proper fractionation on an HPLC using the LCsolution program.
I have a batch with 6 runs on different samples and in the method, which is the same for each batch run, i have a defined fractionation creating 6 elution samples. The problem is that the eluted fractions are loaded into the same vials. In other words, each batch run starts from the beginning, using the same 6 vials as the previous batch run. The result is me ending up with a total of 6 eluted samples instead of 6x6= 32.

I´ve tried to look in the manual to solve this, but frankly it is very poor, not even touching the subject of creating a method...

Does anyone have some experience using LCsolution, and how to do this properly?

Perhaps you should contact Shimadzu as I think they sell the "LCsolution" software. Did you purchase it through them ? If so, I suspect they would assist you.

Yes I probably should. But its a very basic problem, so I thought that the chance of someone here knowing the answer would be fairly high

There is a setting in the software to tell the fraction collector which vial to place the first fraction in. You have the system set to always start at Vial 1, which is the way to set the system up if you want to collect repetitively from the same sample, so the compounds in each run would be the same.

You will probably save a lot of time if you call in to Shimadzu, it should only take a few minutes for them to tell you the proper settings for what you want to do.

Ron is right. The default setting when a new method is created uses repetitive fraction. In order to use consecutive fractionation, you need to set the Start Vial No field to -1 (see screenshot). It will then continue on from the last vial used instead of going back to the first vial.

The FRC-10A manual isn't the greatest. It hasn't been updated for LCsolution and only shows how to set up methods through the SCL-10A controller which was discontinued years ago. You can figure out what they're on about if you read it carefully.

The FRC-10A has lots of different fractionation features, but a lot of what it can do is not straight forward to configure in LCsolution.
