In our lab we routinely measure N2O (atmospheric) using an ECD. Part of our research also involves measuring the isotope 15N/14N ratio of N2O, using an isotope ratio mass spectromoter. Our samples can be heavily enriched with 15N (>0.2 mole fraction 15N).
Would the response of the ECD differ between 'light' 14N-14N-O and 'heavy' 15N-15N-O ,at the same concentration? Ignoring any O isotopes.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Cheers, Nick
