Dear colleagues!
Does somebody know a method to clean samples before gas-liquid chromatography of sugars as trimethylsilyl derivatives? As far as I know, the solid phase extraction method using C18 cartriges can be employed, but at the time being, we have no possibility to purchase them. Perhaps, some other more common methods can be used?

This depends upon the impurities that one wishes to separate. Proteins, petroleum products, salts?

A little more information might help in formulating an answer.

The main impurities I think are proteins and polysaccharides (mainly, starch and pentozanes). Salts I suppose don't hinder the analyses.
