Analysing isocyanates by GC

Hello, we are hoping to use our supplier's GC test methods and adapt them to test the purity of our in-house distilled ELDI. Two other isocyanate methods that we have found use different columns;
IDPI - poly(dimethylsiloxane)
HDI - diphenyl-dimethylpolysiloxane
Does anyone know which of the two columns (or some other third column type) would be best suited to ELDI?
Also the carrier gas is helium in both methods. Is there any reason why hydrogen won't work?
