Chemstation stops run automatically

Hi,

I have a problem with the Agilent Chemstation. Everytime I try to start a measurement the software completes the run after 1 second. There is no error message in the logbook, and pumps and injector don't have any stop time. The run is completed as usual, but right after 1 second!

Whyyyy???????????????????
It must be some stupid small mistake in the software...

I haven't used LC Chemstaion in quite a few years, but I am familiar with the GC/MS Chemstation. Usually if something like that happens, "Data Analysis" is the only item selected when a run is started. When the software finds no data to process (since you haven't collected it yet, theoreticaly), it just stops.

Best of luck

If you measure a single sample then be sure you checked the "Data Acquisition" and "Stadard data analysis" in the Method/Run Time Checklist menu.
If you measure sequence then check the sequence/sequence parameters menu. The "Part of methods to run" field must be "According to runtime checklist", or maybe "Acquisition only" but not "Reprocess only".

Is your drive full? If there is not enough memory the chemstation will only collect a portion of the run or stop it short and sometimes won't give an error.

Is this LC or GC? Check all method settings. In LC, each module has a Stop Time, which should follow the pump. If the pump Stop Time is a small value, then the system will stop at that point.
