Hi everyone

I am interested to hear from anyone who has used the Phenomenex product "EZ Fast" for the GC analysis of amino acids??

If you have, would you be so kind as to provide some thoughts on this product, limitations, ease use, etc..

any comments would be greatly appreciated. :D

Regards
Greg
The derivatisation is fast and the kit comes with the SPE extraction cartridges. No heating of any sort required. Derivatised analytes are stable for up to a few days in the fridge, unlike BSTFA. Chromatographic performance is excellent. It is not necessary to analyse with the EZ fast GC column, a HP1 or BPX5 column will do too

I have analyzed over 700 samples with the EZ Faast GC-FID kit. I can echo the positive things said in the previous post. The kit comes complete such that you can collect aa data the day you open it. Only thing left to the investigator is the extraction of the aa's from your subject.
If you are an experienced chromatographer you will be able to trouble shoot most problems that arise. Tip : purchase the kit when they have their periodic half-price sale!
