Guys simply what I do need to built a 5890/5971 GC MS. what Rev. of chemsatation and what kind of HPIB card
? Windows 3.x and 1034C ChemStation ?

If you have the SmartCard2 upgrade you can use an 8234X or 82350 HPIB card and Chemstation G1701BA in Win2k. I would recommend the 82350 HPIB card as it uses a PCI slot (8234X cards are ISA boards). Great reply, Carl. Any ways to make the Smartcard1 work with the 82350 (PCI) card? I can install Chemstation and run it on WinXP, the 82350 talks to the 5971, but I can't get Chemstation to talk to the 5971. If you do not have the SmartCard2 upgrade you can use an 82335 HPIB card and Chemstation G1034C. I would recommend Win98 as the OS, though Win95 and Win3.1 will work.
These are configs that I've used successfully. You can also use a SmartCard2 upgraded GC/MS with the SmartCard1 configuration that I listed above (you'll need to specify the MS as a 5972) but I'm not sure why you would, heh.
