Another Old GC; Unicam 4500

Hi Guys,
my maiden post :D

Is anyone out there still using a Unicam 4500? I am just in the process of trying to bring one of those old machines back in to service; it has been "on the shelf" unused since 2004 when it worked extremely well.

We currently have it wrapped in a "warmer" to drive off the accumulative dampness of 6 British winters and will then supply power via a variable transformer and raise the voltage over a couple of seconds.

Would like to hear from anyone with a 4500, especially anyone who knows about spares/service possibilities in the UK, just in case we need them.

We are selling a 610 with autosampler on e-bay at this moment. It too was working when we bought it but it decided to pack up when we sold it on. We fixed the heater error with a replacement sensor but it still gave other errors. Good buy if you need parts, great buy if you do not already have an autosampler.

E-bay UK Unicam 610

There were a few ex Unicam GC engineers around but unless it is a simple fix you would spend less money buying a working second hand GC from us or one of the other suppliers

Hi; thanks for that info. Checking your ebay feedback, I confirmed that we got our 4500 from you on 14 March 2004!
