Dear Colleagues,
can I assume that the power of ion exchange of resin Dowex 1-X4 is a half (for the same amount) of the Dowex 1- X8? Can someone give me a protocol for cleaning and maintenance of the resin?
I appreciate any information that can help me.
Regards from Brazil.
Guilherme

The -X4 and -X8 refer to the percentage of divinylbenzene in the resin and are not directly related to the ion exchange capacity. If anything, the more highly crosslinked resins (e.g., the -X8) tend to have a slightly lower ion exchange capacity.
