do i need a prep uv detector
Discussions about HPLC, CE, TLC, SFC, and other "liquid phase" separation techniques.

i have a one inch column, which i want to run at 20ml/min. do i need a prep uv detector if i do not care about signal senstivity. anyway, what is the difference between prep and analytical uv detector?

I think you just need a prep flow cell. Shorter path length in the cell gives better range of absorbances, but less sensitivity. Check out this Waters article below:
