internal standard resonce ratio

I am doing bio analytical analysis by using internal standard.but i am getting more intenced peak for internal standard than analytes. For how much responce ratio, i have to use for internal standard analysis.please suggest me.

HPLC is a method which has to be calibrated.

Aim for an IS concentration that will produce a response similar to that seen at the mid point of your analyte calibration range
