Stripped threads

Does anyone have a good solution for stripped threads on gas line fittings? Specifically ones that aren't easy to replace, like the supply gas fittings on an instrument.

Aren't those typically stainless steel unions installed from the inside??

Anyway, we had some thread restorer dies, they pre-dated me. Check with chromatography suppliers.

If the thread really is stripped you will have to replace the fitting (or run the gas line direct to where it goes inside the instrument, whihc is likely to be more difficult). It it is merely damaged then you might be able to fix it with a threading die. You will probably need to replace the nut on the end of the supply line.
