The Problem: Compressor Dependency & Storage Hazards
In our recent study tracking PFAS in urban watersheds, we struggled with:
Pressure instability: External compressors caused ±15% flow fluctuations, distorting retention times during 24-hour runs.
Space constraints: Storing multiple H₂ cylinders in our BSL-2 lab violated safety protocols and consumed 30% of our bench space.
Contamination risks: Cylinder-derived hydrogen showed trace CO₂ (2–3 ppm), interfering with our electron capture detector’s baseline.
Solution: Compressor-Free High-Pressure Operation
The LX-Series addressed these issues through:
Integrated Pressure Boosting
70 bar output via multi-stage electrochemical compression (no mechanical compressor).
<1% pressure fluctuation during our 72-hour continuous PFAS analysis (vs. 8–12% with cylinder/compressor setups).

Baseline noise: 12–15 pA (attributed to compressor oil vapor carryover).

Direct connection to Agilent 8890 GC/5977B MSD.

Baseline noise reduction: 4–5 pA (stable over 48 hours).
