Dear and experienced colleagues,
I would like to ask you as a newbie in the world of GC for help: when i inject DCM (sciex FID) solvent peak tails the entire spectrum and does not return near the baseline. I have no idea what is happening, I have never noticed this before. Thank you very much for your help

More details will get you better responses... (reworded "Rod's Rule").

Welcome to the forum.

Do you see tailing with other solvents?

Are you doing split or splitless injections?

When did you last exchange or clean your inlet liner?

When did you last put in a new septum?

Once, I had DCM tailing more than usual in splitless mode.
It turned out the column was not installed correctly in the injector.
