Hi,

I am working on replacing an Agilent 6890 with Agilent autosamplers with an Agilent 7890 equipped with a CTC CombiPAL autosampler. I am trying to make the transition for the daily users a little easier by incorporating autosampler control into the Chemstation control suite. I am wondering if the CTC Control for MSD Chemstation (https://www.agilent.com/store/en_US/Pro ... AA/G3384AA) has a specific activation process. We are considering purchasing the software secondhand on Ebay as it is "out of stock" from Agilent which usually means they no longer sell it.

Will there be any complications for a secondhand purchase? Being as cheap as possible --> academia budgets for the win!
Back when I upgraded a GCMS station's software (6890/5975), I did have to purchase the CTC driver you are listing from Agilent since I was upgrading the software version as well as the O/S. I'm not sure what your version of O/S and MSD Chemstation are though, so you will need to ensure compatibility of the specific revisions for the add-on The installation package itself comes the software revision number which is required to do the installation, but if it's included with a used copy, I don't think you would have issues given it's older software.

CTC-PAL also has utilities available for download online, and they were very helpful in providing what I needed when contacting them; http://legacy.leaptec.com/support/wemec ... ptions.php
