Hi, I am in charge of a siloxane GC project and am wondering if anyone can help with some trouble shooting.

GC-2010, Column 30mx0.53mmx3um
I am trying to create the method using a flow rate of around 4ml/min using helium, with the oven programme we are using the pressure calculated by labsolutions is around 20 KPa yet when running the GC it wont drop below 35. I have checked and cleaned the septa, liner and column fixings yet I cant get it to drop. Any ideas?

ecooper,

Perhaps a cheesy answer, but have you considered adding a length of narrow bore to the end of your 0.53? Used to do this with a LowOx column back in the day since it was only 10 meter X o.53
