Hi all,

I have taken over the responsibility of an Agilent 6890N gas chromatograph at my current lab. I am currently doing some maintenance on it, and I am coming across a behaviour I can't make sense of.

The behaviour has more to do with Chemstation rather than the GC itself and as can be read in the title is that whenever the computer I have connected goes to sleep Chemstation shows the instrument as offline with the error code: Gc idd replies error opcode 24. Restarting the software fixes the problem but since this happens a lot and takes a bit of time I would like to fix it without making it so that the computer won't go into sleepy mode.

I managed to solve the problem, if someone else has the same problem I will write the very simple answer here.

Problem and solution was that the computer connected to the GC went into sleep mode after 30 minutes which stopped data connection and communication between these, so simple solution is to put the settings of your computer to not have any sleep mode active.
