Chemstation D.01.02.16 and Win7 (or 10)

We are upgrading an autosampler (SPME type) on a 6890/5973N system. The GCMS is controlled by Chemstation D.01.02.16 and is working great running under WinXP.

The new sampler requires a minimum Win7. Anyone ever try to run this vintage of Chemstation under Win7?

It seems that we can run the sample/gcms combo with 2 pc's but it'd sure be nicer if we could just use one.

I also have E.01.01.335. Perhaps that might be a better option for Win7?

So when I upgraded my computers from XP to Win7 quite a while ago, the initial version for my GC/MS was MSD Chemstation D.03.00.611 and I was told that the first version that could run on Windows 7 was E.02.02 so we upgraded the license to that. I'm not sure if it's simply because Windows 7 won't install the older packages, if there are software/hardware issues, or if it's only because it's not officially supported/tested by Agilent but doing a quick search on this forum, it seems like it could be a problem - but I guess you could always try. Mind you, back in about 2015, the upgrade was only about $1500. You could also alternatively try installing your current software onto a virtual machine on the Win7 station.
