GC-FID (Response factor for hydromorphone)

My current task is to quantitatively determine hydromorphone using GC-FID. Unfortunately, authentic hydromorphone standard is unavailable. However, I do have a morphine reference standard.

Could you confirm if the effective carbon number (ECN) concept is applicable in this context? If so, I would appreciate assistance in calculating the predicted response factor for hydromorphone concentration relative to the peak area of morphine.

The molecular formulas of the two are the same, and so the FID response per unit mass or mole will be very similar if not identical.

This is the perfect example of an application that would be solved by the use of a PolyArc reactor.
