Red signal on my chromatogram

Hi everyone,

I’m working with a Shimadzu GC-MS QP2010 Ultra, and I encountered an issue with one of my chromatograms. A peak in my analysis appears to be "cut off" at the top and is marked in red. There are no error messages from the software, but the red marking has me concerned.

Does this indicate signal saturation or another type of problem? If it’s saturation, how can I adjust the detector or method to resolve this? I’m using GCMS Solution software for my analysis.

I’ve attached an image of the chromatogram so you can see the issue: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Sg2_58 ... drive_link

Any advice on what the red marking specifically means and how to address it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, in Shimadzu MS analysis with LabSolutions, red peaks indicate detector saturation.

You need to dilute your sample or inject less.
