I am recently getting the error "suppressor over voltage " more than ever. I am using AS18 column for anions separation. Can you give me a hint of why this error is happening and interrupting my sequence and how can I avoid this?

Please let me know if I need to provide any other information.

- the suppressor model and size,
- the suppressor current that you set up in the method,
- the suppressor regeneration fluid (the effluent, pure water, ...),
- the column dimensions,
- the eluent composition,
- the eluent flow rate?
...

- the suppressor model and size: Dionex AERS 500 4mm 082540
- the suppressor current that you set up in the method: 25mA
- the suppressor regeneration fluid (the effluent, pure water, ...): I don't know
- the column dimensions: main column is Dionex IonPac AS18 (4*250mm) with a P/N of 060549
- the eluent composition: KOH
- the eluent flow rate: 10mM

We installed the suppressor back in 2018 and it started to leak (image attached) couple of month ago. So do you think the suppressor overvoltage has anything to do with this?

If the suppressor is leaking it's on the way out and need to be replaced. I was able to use a leaking one for a week or two, but it failed quickly after it started leaking. I have never gotten more than 4 years out of a suppressor. One guy from Thermo told me that was actually quite good. he said to expect only a year out of those. I have found they fail the more you change columns. The sodium tetraborate preservative in the column sems to be very bad for the suppressor and detector. The manual says to flush them for 30 minutes but I try to do it for an hour. And I have still had suppressors fail right after column replacement.
